This is one of Wes Montgomery's greatest recordings, a classic that really alerted the world about the talents of the guitarist. In a quartet with pianist Tommy Flanagan, bassist Percy Heath, and drummer Albert Heath, Montgomery introduced his originals "West Coast Blues," "Four on Six," and "D-Natural Blues," performed his "Mister Walker," and stretched out on "Airegin," the ballad "Polka Dots and Moonbeams," "In Your Own Sweet Way," and "Gone With the Wind."
